GETTING AROUND DOWNTOWN TAMPA

Getting around Tampa Bay is a breeze – whether traveling by wheels, water, or your own two feet. The Tampa Riverwalk runs 2.4 miles through the heart of downtown and is reserved strictly for pedestrian traffic. Ride the free TECO Streetcars to easily venture between downtown and Ybor City. Bright yellow Pirate Water Taxis provide day-long hop-on/hop-off transportation along Garrison Channel and the Hillsborough River. Ride share services are a popular way to get around, as is the Downtowner, an app-accessed free service powered by electric vehicles. Finally, HART buses provide low-cost access from Tampa International Airport into downtown.

Walkable Footprint

The Tampa Riverwalk
For getting around the downtown campus, the Tampa Riverwalk, made possible by Friends of the Riverwalk, a nonprofit organization working in tandem with the City of Tampa, provides a walkable path that connects the key venues of the 2019 Women’s Final Four. Amalie Arena is a 0.3 mile (~6 minute) walk from the Convention Center and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is 0.6 mile (~13 minute) walk from the Convention Center.
