GAME DAY TIPS

 

Driving Tips and Safety

If you plan to drive, utilize recommended routes for the easiest access into and out of Amalie Arena and allow for additional travel time. Please refer to the recommended routes outlined by the City of Tampa Transportation department. Fans are encouraged to reserve their parking in advance by visiting the Amalie Arena website. Guests who have not reserved parking prior to game day are recommended to utilize public transportation options for easy navigation and access.

 

Fans visiting game day events can stay up-to-date with traffic information, road closures and routing by: 

  • Visiting the City of Tampa website for transportation advisories and an interactive road closure map

  • Downloading the Waze app for real-time routing instructions.

  • Following @COT_Traffic on Twitter.

 

Helpful Hints: 

  • Allow for extra travel time as you may experience congestion or road closures in downtown Tampa.

  • Look for wayfinding signage to help guide you around Amalie Arena and parking facilities.

  • Be aware that additional Law Enforcement Officers have been deployed to areas surrounding Amalie Arena to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

  • All drivers are encouraged to drive with caution and to heed all traffic warnings.

  • Drivers entering downtown Tampa are encouraged to be mindful of pedestrian traffic as 2019 NCAA Women’s Final Four festivities are expected to draw a large number of pedestrians.

 

 

Getting to Amalie Arena
To ease traffic congestion, provide sustainable alternatives, and lessen the impacts of the 2019 Women’s Final Four on the environment, fans are recommended to utilize the variety of public transportation options available to get around the downtown campus. 


Taxis, Limos and Rideshares
Fans are encouraged to utilize rideshare or taxi services when taking part in game day activities. Vehicles can use one of two locations when driving guests to attend Semifinal or Championship action. If entering downtown from the west, utilize the rideshare/taxi drop-off located on the west side of Tampa Convention Center at Ashley Drive. If entering the downtown area from the east, utilize the rideshare/taxi location at the Florida Aquarium circle.

 

Bike Valet
Planning on riding your bicycle to the Women’s Final Four? For your convenience, Amalie Arena is providing complimentary bicycle valet service located directly on Thunder Alley. Check your ride with appropriate bike valet personnel.

Important Amalie Arena Tips

Bag Searches
All bags permitted inside the venue will be subject to a search by staff. Guests with prohibited items will be asked to return them to their vehicle prior to entering the venue. Small personal bags (purses, baby bags, etc.) will be permitted inside the Amalie Arena, while bags larger than 12x12x12 inches, backpacks, wrapped packages, etc. will not be allowed inside the venue and should be taken back to the guest’s vehicle.  
 

Prohibited Items 
To help ensure your safety, Amalie Arena is preserving all current security measures. These procedures are designed to help our fans have a safe and enjoyable visit to our arena. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience. Your safety is always our first concern. 
 
The following items will not be allowed at Amalie Arena events: 

  • Bags larger than 12x12x12 inches, backpacks or wrapped packages 

  • Cameras with lenses smaller than 4” will be permitted, but camera bags will not be permitted. 

  • Selfie Sticks 

  • iPads and GoPros 

  • Binoculars are permitted, but binocular bags are not permitted. 

  • Video or audio recording devices 

  • Laser pointers 

  • Weapons of any kind 

  • Bottles, cans, or containers of any kind 

  • Sharp objects, sticks or poles of any kind 

  • Fireworks 

  • Pepper spray or mace 

  • Food or beverage items 

  • Drugs or controlled substances 

  • Chairs, folding chairs or any other type of individual chair for use 

  • Wrapped gifts 

  • Large banners or signs, banners or signs with objectionable language, banners or signs on a pole of any kind 

  • lothing with offensive language 

 

Keep in mind, Amalie Arena will utilize a variety of search techniques at all entry points. Thank you for your cooperation. 

 

Banners and Signs 
Regular poster size signs or smaller are permitted in Amalie Arena. Large banners, signs on poles or sticks of any kind or signs with inappropriate language, political reference or sponsors will not be permitted. Signs may not be hung or posted anywhere inside the venue. Please be aware of your surroundings and do not block the view of any guests.  
 

See Something, Say Something™ 
The “If You See Something, Say Something™” campaign is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees in identifying and reporting indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities. If you see something, say something! To report suspicious activity, see the nearest Usher/Ticket Taker or Security Officer, or text 813-374-BOLT (813-374-2658).

Lost Children
Parents or guardians reporting lost children at Amalie Arena should contact your closest Guest Services Representative or visit Guest Services across from Section 101.

 

Women’s Final Four Sustainability Efforts
Elevated recycling efforts will be taking place alongside the Women's Final Four events as the Tampa Bay Local Organizing works to achieve the Council for Responsible Sport certification. For more information, click here.
