India Witte believes in the transformational impact of education, philanthropy, and volunteerism, and has dedicated her professional life to affecting change in our communities through these channels. A graduate of the Florida State University with a degree in English Literature, India is a seasoned professional with over twenty years’ experience in fundraising, management, and program development in the not-for-profit field, primarily in a university setting. She currently serves the University of South Florida Foundation as Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy Executive Director of the impactful Women in Leadership & Philanthropy (WLP) program, an organization of over 350 individuals and 23 corporations who are committed to advancing women through the promotion of leadership development, mentorship, philanthropy, engagement and scholarly excellence. Celebrating its 13th year, WLP has raised well over $4 million dollars, and has awarded in excess of $1,000,000 in scholarships and faculty research awards to over 560 women in the USF System.

 

India is deeply committed to community engagement and volunteerism and has served in a variety of leadership roles in diverse organizations. She currently chairs the Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women and serves on the Board of Directors of the Glazer Children’s Museum and the Florida Commission on the Status of Women Foundation. A graduate of Leadership Tampa’s Class of 2012, India is a member of the Athena Society, the Rays 100 community support organization, the Buccaneer’s Women of Red, and the Women’s Final Four Advisory Committee.

 

India is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tampa, including 7 years of service on the board of directors, and is a member of both the Women for FSU and USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy. She is also a volunteer and former assistant troop leader for the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, a member of Women in Executive Leadership (WEL), the Henry B. Plant Museum Society, serves as alumna faculty advisor for the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and is deeply involved with St. John’s Episcopal Parish Church as a member of the vestry (board) and as a past Sunday School and parish ministry leader. She has also previously served on the 2015 Hillsborough County Charter Review Board, Campaign Steering Committee for the Glazer Children’s Museum and on event fundraising committees for the Lowry Park Zoo and the Tampa Museum of Art.
