Tampa, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Sports Commission and the NCAA are seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as ambassadors for the fan events surrounding the 2019 NCAA Women’s Final Four coming to Amalie Arena April 5 & 7, 2019.

Over 2,000 shifts are required to assist with signature events including Tourney Town presented by Capital One at the Tampa Convention Center (April 5-7, 2019), Super Saturday at Curtis Hixon Park (April 6, 2019) and Bounce presented by Buick starting at Curtis Hixon Park and dribbling along the Tampa Riverwalk (April 7, 2019).

Volunteer responsibilities include transportation and courtesy car drivers, as well as greeters at hotels, airports and other key locations. Shifts range from three and a half to four hours. Volunteers must register for a minimum of three shifts throughout the weekend, and each shift does not have to be for the same event.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our major events.  Our community of ambassadors are the MVP’s and we take great pride in extending a warm welcome, rolling out the red carpet, and delivering customer service that elevates the fan and visitor experience like never before,” said Claire Lessinger, executive director of the Tampa Bay Local Organizing Committee. “If you are looking to join our team, becoming a volunteer is the most rewarding way to be part of the action and most importantly, part of the impact.”

Volunteers are required to attend a mandatory training session. Sessions are scheduled for Thursday, March 28, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 31, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Amalie Arena. Training will include a general program overview and breakout sessions with volunteer captains.

In addition to each volunteer having up-close involvement with the activities and festivities surrounding the Championship, they will also receive Women’s Final Four apparel, a post-event volunteer appreciation event and a 2019 USF Football ticket opportunity.

Some age restrictions apply. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and complete an application. Applicants are also subject to a background check. For more information or to register, visit https://www.wfftampabay.com/volunteer.
